In an environment where libraries continue to face budgetary constraints, it is increasingly difficult to maintain adequate information services for growing patron needs. TechKowledge is a strong advocate of using the consortia model to simultaneously cater to the need of publishers for high volume sales and the need of libraries for cost effective resources. And in the world of electronic platforms, shared access, usage monitoring and electronic inter-library loan, the benefits of consortia economics are multiplied to the nth degree.

The management of TechKnowledge has extensive experience building and managing consortia around the world. TechKnowledge has launched a number of regional library consortia with these three major objectives:

  1. To achieve lower overall costs for member libraries
  2. To maintain the widest range of relevant electronic products accessible to all member libraries
  3. To satisfy the diverse requirements of users working in a broad spectrum of library settings
